Johanna Konta hopeful of Grand Slam win one day


Johanna Konta insists she’s capable of winning a Grand Slam title so long as she keeps giving the opportunity to herself.
The No 1 culminating in the US Open, and has enjoyed a fine season using a semi-final at the French Open accompanied by a quarter-final in Wimbledon, in the majors.
But Elina Svitolina, the fifth seed finished that run at Flushing Meadows, on Arthur Ashe.
Konta was attempting to become the first British woman to reach the semi-finals at New York because Jo Durie in 1983.
However she fell short Svitolina expanding 100 percent record against Konta to her to five matches, against a foe.
“I really do feel that was probably the best I sensed her play against me. She played so well, to be honest,” said Konta.
“Truly, I didn’t play badly at all. I felt like I do plenty of great things out there, a great deal of the correct things.
“She made me play that extra ball. It’s frustrating. You know, I would have loved to have come through this and come through a struggle like her, but I suppose it will just have to be next time.
“I certainly think that it’s just the more chances I give myself like that, the more opportunities I have of going a step farther and even more steps farther.
“I don’t have any regrets or any hindsight in that which I did before or during the match. I believe I did lots of good things.
“I believe I will definitely still get better and better. I am able to take a lot of good things from this ”
To get Konta, it is now a visit to Broadway to see celebrity Tom Hiddleston at’Betrayal’. For Svitonina, it is major semi-final looks.
The 24-year-old explained:”I think we were both striking the ball well, it was rather even. I just took one stage at a time and trying to stay calm.
“I was relieved I could serve it out and only quite happy with the way I handled the strain .”
